Learning About Tobacco Cigarettes And How They Are Replicated By E-Cigs

Many people may find that they are curious about the hype that surrounds the use of electronic cigarettes. Delivering doses of nicotine in a vaporized steam form, these devices are often appealing to a typical smoker for several reasons. According to the NY Daily News, “You know what the most amazing thing about this cigarette is? It isn’t one,” explains a narrator as the modern-day Marlboro Man fixes the viewer with a broody stare before returning the reusable smoke to a container that resembles the traditional pocket-sized cardboard pack.”
By learning more about tobacco cigarettes and how they are replicated by e-cigs, it should be possible to decide if purchasing one might be the right decision for you.

One of the most important aspects of an electronic cigarette is nicotine strength. Many smokers prefer a certain brand or type of cigarette for their strength when smoked. Vapor cartridges are available in no, low, medium and high nicotine strengths. This makes it easy to match the amount of nicotine you typically consume when smoking a traditional tobacco cigarette. It is also possible to choose between an artificial or plant based propylene glycol cartridge liquid to further suit one’s taste.

Electronic cigarettes are also similar to regular cigarettes in the fact that a cartridge or battery will typically only last so long before it needs to be replaced or recharged. However, electronic cigarette cartridges will typically last longer than a pack of cigarettes would, especially when a higher strength nicotine cartridge is used. The issue of charging can be alleviated by utilizing a car or computer charger or by bringing an extra battery.

Quality is also a concern when it comes to vaporizing nicotine. Don’t ever make the mistake of purchasing the five or ten dollar models available over the counter at gas stations or smoke shops. Mass produced electronic cigarettes likely were made with little to no quality control. Investing in a more expensive model will not only increase the quality of your vaporizing experience, but will also give you peace of mind when it comes to your health as well.

CDC Study Confirms Increased Awareness and Use of The E-Cigarette

A study by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) confirms that the e- cigarette is enjoying a rapid increase in awareness and use. In response to these trends, more government studies and regulation may be on the way.

The results from several online surveys conducted by the CDC revealed that almost six in ten adults in the U.S. are now aware of electronic cigarettes, and one in five people who currently smoke have used an electronic cigarette at least once. These figures represent a twenty percent increase in awareness in less than two years. Meanwhile, “vaping” among adults has doubled to a total of 6 percent. People who currently smoke are about three times more likely to try the products than former smokers. The report is scheduled to be published in the Nicotine & Tobacco Research journal. CDC expert Dr. Tim McAfee commented on the findings saying, “The bottom line is … the impact of e-cigarettes on public health remains uncertain.”

These figures are all the more remarkable given the relatively short history of electronic cigarettes. Credit for the original concept has been given to Herbert A. Gilbert who filed for a patent in 1963 but could not find a market. The first e-cigarettes did not get manufactured until 2003 when a pharmacist named Han Lik introduced them in China. In the U.S., the FDA and individual states have sought to impose restrictions on e-cigarettes. Currently, laws concerning the use and sale of electronic cigarettes and related products vary by state, and more action is pending. Even so, there are now several million users worldwide and sales are still increasing dramatically. Some of the best known celebrities who use them include Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Does your best friend smell?

Celebrate Women Today is a fabulous blog by Laura Gontchar covering interesting topics centered around women such as fashion, health, lifestyle, crafts, spirituality and food.

In a recent blog post she wrote about a friend of hers that always smells like cigarettes.  The post’s title “My Best Friend … Stinks” is simply hilarious. But of course it is not a post that makes fun of her friend.

Laura explores this difficult topic in all honesty, looks at side effects from smoking, and also discusses electronic cigarettes which we know do not produce any lingering smell.

Her post received various comments which shows how relevant the topic is. Let’s hope that many of her readers that used to smoke can now celebrate a tobacco free life.
